Magic Times 2006

2006 was another theatrical year for the Maginot family. Carolyn played the role of
Joanne in Rick Harmonís production of Come Back to the Five & Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean while Mike did the sound design. Mike had the chance to work with Tim OíConnor on a readerís theater production of The Devil and Daniel Webster. Marlene is living in LA with her grandmother and takes improv classes with The Groundlings and the Upright Citizens Brigade. To make ends meet, she works as a production assistant for documentary director, Michele Ohayon and as a part-time administrative assistant for an insurance firm.
Mike is currently in charge of the national call center for eScrip and takes night classes at Sierra College. Carolyn is still doing manicures at the Bret Harte salon in Grass Valley. She reads a few books a week and in her spare time writes amusing commentaries on life in a small town. Mike and Carolyn share the house with three cats (Lucy, Babaloo, and Percy) and two dogs (Brownie and Umo).
Marlene has a little dog, named Millie, who usually accompanies her on her visits to Grass Valley. All three Maginots keep in touch thanks to cell phones and the Internet. They all have My Space pages. Mike plans to try out some new web design software in the coming year and give the online version of Magic Times a facelift. Mike continues to enjoy photography, videography, and video editing. This year, with the help of Matt Heilmann and Organic Media, he put together a video sampler of 20 years of documentary, industrial and music video work. Mike, who turned 50 this year, also found time to DJ at a wedding and a Christmas party. He also maintains websites for musicians Dan Levinson and Daníl McIlhenny.
